The two name forms
The publisher’s synopsis for the sixth volume calls her 慕容憶 (Murong Yi), whereas the online continuation calls her 容忆 (Rong Yi). These references concern the daughter of Chu Changge and Murong Yunshu in the romance with Fu Chengfeng.
The source material checked does not explain whether the shortened surname is a deliberate in-story change, an alias or an editorial variation. Both forms are listed without inventing an explanation.
Names and forms of address
- 忆儿 (Yi-er): affectionate family nickname, particularly in conversation with Chu Murong.
- 长公主 (Princess Royal / Eldest Princess): imperial title in the printed-volume synopsis.
- 皇妹 (Huangmei): Imperial Younger Sister; her brother’s way of addressing her.
- 皇兄 (Huangxiong): Imperial Elder Brother; how she addresses Chu Murong.
- 小小姐 (Little Young Miss): a Murong-household form of address.

Three family reputations
The printed sixth-volume synopsis describes a family in which her mother has the greatest wealth, her father the greatest martial skill, and her imperial elder brother the greatest political power.
Living among these exceptionally accomplished relatives helps explain her ambition to find a husband she can call the greatest under heaven (天下第一夫君).
Family relationships
- Chu Changge: her father’s overwhelming martial reputation follows her wherever she goes.
- Murong Yunshu: her mother’s financial intelligence and independence are clear influences on Rong Yi’s behaviour.
- Chu Murong: her older brother, adviser, rival in banter and political ally.
- Fu Chengfeng: prospective husband - also her father’s junior martial brother, creating a comic conflict of seniority.
03 - Appearance and personality
Character dossier - Part 03
Appearance and personality
Beautiful, daring, teasing and disconcertingly dangerous
Key details
| General impression | Attractive and youthful, but capable of frightening other martial artists |
|---|---|
| Distinctive detail | Delicate willow-shaped eyebrows (柳眉) |
| Noted clothing | A pale yellow outfit during her reunion with Fu Chengfeng |
| Demeanour | Self-assured, mischievous, spirited |
| Personality assessment | Clever, sharp-tongued, competitive, protective and determined |
Contrasting qualities
Her apparently delicate appearance is deceptive. In moments of danger she exhibits formidable martial ability and a commanding presence. She can also deliberately look innocent when her words or schemes are anything but.
Like her father, she is fearless and contemptuous of needless convention. Like her mother, she is astute, independent and capable of turning another person’s assumptions to her advantage.
Defining traits
- Intelligence (聪慧): spots opportunities and responds quickly.
- Cunning (狡黠): uses traps, concealment and persuasion.
- Confidence (自信): trusts her abilities and resists intimidation.
- Sharp tongue (毒舌): enjoys pointed humour with her brother and Fu Chengfeng.
- Loyalty (重情): will defend those closest to her.
- Vulnerability: is anxious that Fu Chengfeng may not love her genuine, powerful self.
04 - Martial arts and unconventional abilities
Character dossier - Part 04
Martial arts and unconventional abilities
A princess capable of stopping a martial arts battle
Key details
| Martial skill | Exceptionally powerful; able to overwhelm multiple opponents |
|---|---|
| Internal energy (内力) | Strong internal force and effective combat techniques |
| Unarmed combat | Able to fight without relying on a conspicuous conventional weapon |
| Combat judgement | Reads strength, intentions and dangers quickly |
| Disguise and concealment | Travels incognito and works under a concealed identity |
| Psychological strategy | Employs feints and a beauty trap (美人计) |
| Temporary weakness | Affected by Jinglong Zhi Ye (惊龙之叶), then aided by a countermeasure |
At Riyue Manor
In the final confrontation she intervenes between warring martial arts groups and makes the combatants stop. Her ability to do so, and their reaction when she reveals she is Chu Changge’s daughter, demonstrates both her own prowess and her father’s legacy.
Limits and growth
Rong Yi is unusually strong, but she is not presented as unbeatable. Fu Chengfeng ultimately reaches Unity of Man and Sword (人剑合一) through the Way of the Sword (剑道), a level that surpasses her expectations.
Her most effective interventions often combine fighting ability with forethought. During the Jinling conspiracy, she and Chu Murong use knowledge of the Jinglong Zhi Ye countermeasure to deceive their enemies.
05 - The search for the greatest husband
Character dossier - Part 05
The search for the greatest husband
How the Eldest Princess enters Riyue Manor as a maidservant
Key details
| Initial objective | Find the greatest husband under heaven (天下第一夫君) |
|---|---|
| Motivation | Find her own exceptional achievement in a powerful family |
| Approach | Travel in disguise (微服私访) |
| Location | Riyue Manor (日月山庄) |
| Cover identity | Maidservant |
| Outcome | Her search leads to Fu Chengfeng |
The published synopsis
The publisher describes how, after fourteen years of contemplation, Murong Yi decides that a remarkable husband is the one prize that could rival her mother’s wealth, her father’s martial talent and her brother’s power.
Far from awaiting an arranged marriage, she travels incognito and takes a servant’s position at Riyue Manor. The contrast between her royal background and her humble role launches the sixth volume’s comic-romantic adventure.
Reading note
The official synopsis supports this premise. The precise order and dialogue of every early Riyue Manor incident are not independently verified from that short publisher summary, so no invented scene-by-scene account is presented here.
06 - Fu Chengfeng - romance and mutual acceptance
Character dossier - Part 06
Fu Chengfeng - romance and mutual acceptance
Her favourite target for teasing becomes her chosen partner
Key details
| Partner | Fu Chengfeng (傅乘风) |
|---|---|
| His martial lineage | Junior martial brother (师弟) of Chu Changge |
| Shared conflict | Concealed identity, apparent loss of martial arts and political danger |
| Emotional turning point | Reunion after he believes she is dead |
| Final relationship status | They depart together and discuss formal marriage plans |
Differences in temperament
Rong Yi is forthright, argumentative and often mischievous. Fu Chengfeng is more reserved, though he learns to return her teasing. Their attraction develops amid danger and misunderstandings.
She worries that he preferred the apparently vulnerable woman he once knew and might dislike the full truth of her formidable abilities. In the reunion chapters she acts as though her martial power has not recovered.
Acceptance of her true self
Fu Chengfeng realises that her weakness is an act and reassures her that he loves her regardless of her strength. Their emotional resolution rests on his acceptance of both her vulnerability and her martial ability.
Unusual marriage hierarchy
Because Fu Chengfeng is Chu Changge’s junior martial brother, marrying Rong Yi would make him both the Sect Leader’s junior martial brother and son-in-law. This contradiction provides one of the novel’s final jokes.
07 - Chu Murong - imperial elder brother and accomplice
Character dossier - Part 07
Chu Murong - imperial elder brother and accomplice
Sibling arguments, practical advice and cooperative schemes
Key details
| Elder brother | Chu Murong (楚慕容) |
|---|---|
| Relationship | Close; argumentative and affectionate |
| Court position | He is the reigning emperor |
| Forms of address | 皇兄 (Huangxiong) and 皇妹 (Huangmei) |
| Shared operations | The Jinling conspiracy and staged-death scheme |
His warning about Qin Mu’an
When Rong Yi assumes her beauty trap has worked, Chu Murong cautions that Qin Mu’an is too rational to behave so recklessly without another motive. She reconsiders what she had assumed about the scheme.
When Fu Chengfeng is captured
Chu Murong questions her refusal to rush to Fu Chengfeng’s rescue. She replies with characteristic dry humour that if Fu is neither in mortal danger nor facing another grave personal threat, an immediate intervention is unnecessary.
The horse dealer episode
At a stable the siblings suspect a horse described as a rare treasure is not what the dealer claims. Rong Yi realises that the earlier buyer was probably Fu Chengfeng. They race towards Jinling while arguing jokingly over ownership and honouring wagers.
08 - Qin Mu’an / Qin Muzhi and the beauty trap
Character dossier - Part 08
Qin Mu’an / Qin Muzhi and the beauty trap
A calculated experiment with another man’s feelings
Key details
| Name in court-related plot | Qin Mu’an (秦慕安) |
|---|---|
| Other identity | Qin Muzhi (秦慕之) |
| Network | Connected to Prince Kaoshan and Yun Nitian |
| Rong Yi’s strategy | Beauty trap (美人计) |
| Her mistaken assumption | His compliance proves she influenced him romantically |
| Her later view | He may have had an ulterior motive; she feels some remorse |
The apparent success of her scheme
Rong Yi expects to influence Qin Mu’an, yet she is surprised when he goes so far as to create an opening for her escape. She initially attributes the reaction to the beauty trap.
Chu Murong’s objection
Chu Murong points out that Qin Mu’an is habitually calm and calculating. Acting against his own apparent interests may be evidence of a deeper plan rather than proof of affection.
An unresolved motive
Rong Yi feels she has used another person’s feelings and expresses willingness to spare him once in a later confrontation. His exact emotional motives are not conclusively established in the cited scene; the dossier therefore does not present him as a confirmed romantic rival.
09 - The Jinling conspiracy and the staged deaths
Character dossier - Part 09
The Jinling conspiracy and the staged deaths
The siblings trick their enemies after the Jinglong Zhi Ye attack
Key details
| Major location | Jinling (金陵) |

| Co-conspirators | Qin Muzhi and Yun Nitian (云逆天) |
| Ally | Shi Er Xiansheng (石二先生) |
| Key device | Jinglong Zhi Ye (惊龙之叶) |
| Countermeasure | Method devised by Shi Er Xiansheng |
| Central stratagem | Fake the siblings’ deaths to expose the conspiracy |
Political danger
The siblings are drawn into a scheme associated with Prince Kaoshan, Qin Muzhi and Yun Nitian. The prince’s earlier ambitions and the conspirators’ motives prove more complex than first appearances suggest.
The deception
Rong Yi and Chu Murong learn how to counter the dangerous Jinglong Zhi Ye device while allowing their opponents to believe they remain incapacitated. They exploit that misconception by arranging an apparent attack and staged deaths.
Why this matters for Fu Chengfeng
Fu Chengfeng is not initially informed of the plan. Believing Rong Yi has died, he confronts the person he holds responsible. When she finally appears alive, the relief and anger of his reunion with her become a major emotional turning point.
10 - Riyue Manor and the martial arts confrontation
Character dossier - Part 10

| Fu Chengfeng’s breakthrough | Unity of Man and Sword (人剑合一) |
Bringing the battle to a halt
Rong Yi enters a confrontation among several martial arts factions and demonstrates enough power to interrupt them. When she identifies herself as Chu Changge’s daughter, fear of her father’s reputation further weakens their willingness to fight.
Fu Chengfeng’s victory
Yun Hendong believes the swordsman cannot surpass him without entering the Demonic Path. Fu Chengfeng proves him wrong by reaching the Way of the Sword and defeating him. Rong Yi discovers his abilities have developed beyond what she previously expected.
11 - The Yun family mystery and Yun Ni’s identity
Character dossier - Part 11
The Yun family mystery and Yun Ni’s identity
The deception that clears Fu Chengfeng of a devastating accusation
Key details
| Manor head | Yun Hendong (云恨东) |
|---|---|
| Son | Yun Nitian (云逆天) |
| Daughter | Yun Ni (云霓) |
| Tragedy | Yun Ni dies after a fall from a cliff in childhood |
| Deception | Yun Nitian impersonates Yun Ni for years |
| False claim | Fu Chengfeng had wronged or abandoned Yun Ni |
| Outcome | The false accusation is exposed |
How the tragedy began
Yun Hendong treated Yun Nitian harshly because his son could not meet his martial expectations. The boy was isolated on the rear mountain. Yun Ni died after falling from a cliff at about ten years old.
The impersonation
Yun Nitian took on the identity of his sister and maintained the deception for years while harbouring resentment towards his father. The conspiracy also implicated Fu Chengfeng in supposed romantic wrongdoing involving Yun Ni.
Resolution
The revelation undermines Yun Hendong’s accusations against Fu Chengfeng. Rong Yi and Fu Chengfeng choose not to decide the father-son conflict for them, leaving the two to confront their own history.
12 - Ending, fate and interpretation
Character dossier - Part 12

| Marriage plans | Rong Yi intends Fu Chengfeng to propose formally |
| Actual wedding depicted? | Not verified |

The final exchange
After the confrontation Rong Yi begins organising their marriage with characteristic speed, proposing that they first inspect Fu Chengfeng’s residence and then arrange a formal proposal. She jokingly treats him as her future Fuma (驸马).
Fu Chengfeng considers the peculiar problem of addressing her father as both his senior martial brother and prospective father-in-law. The pair depart together, their bickering turning into the novel’s final romantic joke.
Character analysis
Rong Yi begins by seeking an achievement that can rival those of her extraordinarily successful relatives. Her adventures teach her that the worth of a relationship lies not in an impressive title or grand ambition, but in genuine mutual acceptance.
Overall: Murong Yi / Rong Yi is a formidable and fiercely independent princess, combining Chu Changge’s martial talent and audacity with Murong Yunshu’s intelligence and biting humour. Her romance with Fu Chengfeng matures when she no longer needs to conceal the person she is.
